365 Days of Pursuit for Women

INTRODUCTION

DEAR WOMAN OF GOD’S AMAZING GRACE: Isn’t it wonderful to have a best friend; someone with whom you can share all of the wonderful things that happen to you with; someone to whom you can take all of your troubles and trials to and receive real help through them; someone who is interested in every detail of your life; someone you can trust with your most intimate and hidden secrets knowing they are safe and will never be shared with another? Perhaps, you don’t know how wonderful this would be as you have confided in others only to be hurt, rejected, cast aside, or betrayed so that now you have closed yourself off to all in order to protect your heart from such pain but deep inside you are longing for such a friend.

For the woman who has received Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour you have met such a friend but how personal and intimate are you with Him? Do you really understand Him; how deeply He cares for and loves you; how much He longs to bestow upon you all of His power, strength and Spirit; just how intimate He wants to be with you? Since you met Him, have you developed such an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ so that you can honestly say that you love Him with all of your heart, soul and mind and can call Him your very best friend?

Perhaps you cannot do this because you really don’t know Him.  Yes, He saved you and you know His Holy Spirit dwells within you but you still feel an aloneness that you know shouldn’t be there. You would pray but it seems God is so distant there is no way He can hear you much less answer your prayers. Perhaps, because of this you feel as though He too has hurt, rejected, cast aside, or betrayed you in some way.  Be assured this is not the Jesus Christ who loves you so much that He chose to shed his blood and die for you, giving up all He was to be born of woman so that He might claim you for His own personal friend; that He might be with you through every blessing, in every trial, and walking daily with you every moment of every day leading, guiding, directing your every step.

Jesus says, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” (John 15:13-16) Though He calls you, “friend” perhaps you cannot call Him Friend because you do not know Him on the intimate level that He knows you. You don’t know what He has commanded so how can you obey and if you cannot obey how can He reveal His friendship with you? Perhaps you want to know Him more but don’t know how.

Jesus has made known unto you all that His Father knows through the Word of God, which is the very mind of the Christ who chose you to be His friend.  Throughout the pages of the Bible, from the first word in Genesis to final word in Revelation, Jesus reveals to all who will read exactly who He is, you just need to choose to want to know Him enough to personally pursue that intimate relationship with Him that He desires to have with you. This is what 365 Days of Pursuit for Women is designed to guide you in developing.

As you begin your personal pursuit of Christ through the reading of God’s Word and comparing scripture with scripture, be encouraged to set aside time every day to be alone with God, prayerfully reading through each day’s scripture reading, followed by comparing each scripture with the other as guided by each day’s devotions.  Remember, this is your personal pursuit in getting to know the Lord Jesus Christ more intimately than ever before so protect the time you designate and dedicate to this pursuit as the most precious of your life.  Look forward to this time with great anticipation and let nothing hinder you from your pursuit, in the name of Jesus, for the Father’s glory, and in accordance to the sweet fellowship of God’s Holy Spirit, Amen and Amen!

“But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.”  Deuteronomy 4:29
